Capital.

I was in Washington, D.C. yesterday, on my way down to Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA to drop off work for the upcoming group show, “From What I Remember/From What I Forget,” curated by the fine folks at Broad Street Studios. The opening reception for the show is Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6:30-9pm; please stop by and check it out! While in D.C., I stopped by the National Portrait Gallery for a brief bit, which I haven’t visited in faaaaar too long. Imagine my great pleasure when the third painting I encountered once inside the museum was by none other than Philadelphia’s own Alexandra Tyng! The National Portrait Gallery recently acquired Alex’s portrait of her father, the late architect Louis I. Kahn – here’s an image:
